A book jacket design for 'Grimm's Fairy Tales'
This is a book jacket design that I submitted to the Penguin Design Award 2012. I read the tales in the book to get ideas for designs. I really liked the idea of having the tales on the front that are less well known, so inside the feathers I have illustrated in my own way 9 of the tales from in the book. The 9 feathers also relate to one of the tales too. To create this illustration, I used watercolours and ink to make a messy yet quite effective and professional look to the book cover. By creating my own typography for the cover, I feel like this has become more of a personal touch to my projects.
